Exploring the intersection of art, identity, culture, and mental health
Kapwa: Healing in Connection
In Filipino philosophy, kapwa reflects a shared sense of self; our identities are shaped through connection with family, community, and culture.
Creativity and reflection help us explore our experiences while honoring the relationships and histories that shape us. Through therapy, art, or dialogue, reflection becomes a way to reconnect with ourselves and with others.
Three guiding ideas behind my work
Creative Roots
& Creative Practice
Before becoming a therapist, I worked in design and branding, where I saw how creativity expresses what words cannot. Today, that foundation shapes my work; using art to explore and understand ourselves.
Art as Reflection
& Inner Exploration
Creativity is how we make meaning of our experiences. Art therapy offers another language for self-understanding, especially when words feel limiting. It allows us to slow down, reflect, and better understand ourselves.
Filipinx Identity
& Mental Health
As a Filipina American therapist, I center mental health within Filipino and Asian American communities. Culture, family, and migration shape identity, and reflection helps us approach these experiences with awareness and compassion.
